In addition to playing such roles as recovering attorney, incidental humorist, and asparagus enthusiast, KImberly Brighton has added award-winning author to her accomplishments. Her Cape May RomCom Beach Series features The Way to Cape May (her debut novel), which was released in June 2023. Book two in the series, A Cape May Kind of Love, was released in February 2024. Book three, Cape May Ever After, will be released in July 2024.
She studied Satirical Writing and Screenwiting at The Second City, and is author of The Shore Blog, a travel website featuring the south Jersey Cape, as well as BlaBlaBlog, a humor website. Additionally, Ms. Brighton’s professional writing includes hundreds of legal briefs and the occasional apologetic post-It note on co-workers’ lunch bags after shamelessly pilfering their goodies to feed her pre-trial stress eating habit. She’s an accomplished author of many wine-infused, un-posted Facebook rants on a variety of topics that, if posted, would swiftly and certainly result in mass unfriending by the majority of her Facebook “friends”.
She enjoys sunsets, long drives to the beach, and drafting humorous pieces for the merriment of herself and those who are likely to explode in laudatory laughter as a result of random indebtedness to her. When she’s not dreaming up swoony romance plots, she spends her free time searching for food expiration labels and sitting at red lights. Married for 25+ laugh-filled years, she’s discovered the key to a lasting marriage: take out.
